“Spirit Art” Exhibit by Mary Lou Faitoute Coming to Toms River Library

June 13, 2019

TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “Spirit Art,” an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Mary Lou Faitoute in the McConnell Gallery throughout the month of July.

Mary Lou Faitoute has a BA degree in Art Education from the College of New Jersey. She has shown her work in numerous art shows and fairs in New Jersey and Arizona.

Faitoute says, “My work would best be described as automatic or intuitive… The work is fueled by the enjoyment of painting and creating rather than being a chore or wanting it to be something specific... The painting is often done in the process of intuition rather than intention and shows images or ideas that came out of automatic decisions. Visually, the work is mostly abstract… This painting experience has always been spiritual to me like a prater and has become even more magical and elusive to me."

“Spirit Art” is free and open to the public. For more information call the branch at 732-349-6200, ext. 5100 or visit theoceancountylibrary.org/events.
