The Ocean County Library’s Museum Pass Program provides Ocean County residents, with a library card, the opportunity to visit a variety of cultural and educational attractions in our area. Providing a way for Ocean County Library patrons to visit important cultural institutions, for free, helping us achieve our mission to connect people, build community, and transform lives.

How the Museum Pass Program Works (FAQs)

How do I reserve a museum pass?

You can come in, call, or reserve your pass online.

How far in advance can I book a museum pass?

A museum pass may be booked 30 days in advance.

Is there a charge to borrow a pass?

No, museum passes are free to borrow by Ocean County resident, 18 years or older, with a library card in good standing. Borrower’s library card must have less than $25 in fees in order to borrow a pass.

How do I get the pass?

All passes are available through our reservation software TixKeeper. Once you sign into your account, you will be able to view your reserved passes as well as print them.

Don't have a printer? No problem! Stop into any of our 21 locations, during normal hours of operation, and we will print your pass for free!

What is ‘Day of Use’?

‘Day of Use’ is the day you plan on visiting the museum.

Can I cancel my reservations?

No. Due to the nature of Print on Demand passes and our agreement with the participating institutions, reservations cannot be canceled.

How many people are admitted per pass to a museum?

It depends on the pass. Each museum has its own admission rules. Check above or with the Library for more information.

Who can reserve a pass?

Ocean County residents, 18 years and older, with an active library card in good standing (fines and fees cannot exceed $25) may reserve a pass. Reciprocal borrowers are not eligible to borrow passes.

Do museum passes count as one of the 60 items I can have checked out on my library card?

No, museum passes do not count against your 60 item limit.

How many passes can I reserve a day?

You can reserve one (1) pass per day per library card.

What determines the admission rules and requirements?

Each museum has its own set of admission rules and requirements. The Library is required to follow those rules, or risk losing privileges with the museum. Check above or with the Library for more information.
