Discover Garden Railroads at Ocean County Library Stafford Branch

August 21, 2023

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP – It’s a hobby, it’s horticulture, and it’s popular across America. Garden railroads combine model trains and strategic plantings to enhance your yard. Join Dr. S. Ann Earon, Rutgers Master Gardener of Ocean County, for garden railroading tips, 10:30 AM Monday, September 11, at the Ocean County Library Stafford Branch.

Dr. Earon will share what she and her husband have learned in designing and building two garden railroads in New Jersey. Topics will include site selection, ground preparation, track types, and the ways that plants enhance the space. Questions are welcome.

Rutgers Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who present horticulture programs developed by the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) Cooperative Extension.

Bring your garden questions and plant or insect samples to Master Gardeners for diagnoses and recommendations in the OCL Stafford Branch, 10 AM until 12 PM on the second and fourth Monday of each month, through September.

Please register at www.theoceancountylibrary.org/events for this free program. For more information, visit the OCL Stafford Branch, 129 North Main Street, Manahawkin, or call (609) 597-3381.
