Enjoy ‘An Afternoon of Music with Dr. David Podles’ at The Ocean County Library

TOMS RIVER –  The Ocean County Library is pleased to welcome acclaimed international violinist Dr. David Podles, who will perform “An Afternoon of Music” during the month of October at four OCL branches.

  • Manchester Branch – 21 Colonial Drive, (732) 657-7600. “Shades of Autumn,” 2 PM Monday, October 2. Feel the emotions of the changing of seasons through musical medleys of some of the world’s greatest composers.
  • Lakewood Branch – 301 Lexington Avenue, (732) 363-1435. ”The Music of Spain: Enchantment and Revelry,” 2 PM Saturday, October 7. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, join Dr. Podles on a lively, sumptuous tour of the music of Spain, including Classical selections, Flamenco, and Spanish folk songs.
  • Toms River Branch – 101 Washington Street, (732) 349-6200. “Musical Fiesta of Latin Countries,” 2 PM Saturday, October 14. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, embark on a musical journey through the Latin world with the sounds of Mexico, Uruguay, Brazil, Cuba, and more.
  • Waretown Branch – 112 Main Street, (609) 693-5133. “Classical Composers through the Epoch,” 2 PM Tuesday, October 17. Travel through time as Dr. Podles commemorates magnificent composers from centuries past.

Dr. Podles, laureate of three prestigious international competitions, has performed solo and in symphony, chamber, orchestra and ballet ensembles in Russia and the former Soviet Republics, and at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and other New York venues.
