This program honors the memory of James J. Mancini, who while serving on the Ocean County Board of Commissioners for 21 years, was liaison to the Ocean County Library for over 15 years. Commissioner Mancini often said, “We have the best library system in the world.” He enthusiastically supported library staff in their efforts to provide excellence in library resources and services to the people of Ocean County. His support of library partnerships with Ocean County municipalities helped the Ocean County Library become the largest county library system in New Jersey.
