Savor Custom Blend Band’s Country Mix at Ocean County Library Toms River Branch

September 13, 2023

TOMS RIVER – Like your music with a light Country accent? The Custom Blend Band will serve up an evening of traditional and modern fare at the Ocean County Library Toms River Branch, 6:30 PM Wednesday, September 27.

The Custom Blend Band’s repertoire is a rich mixture of country, pop, folk and bluegrass. Paul Petrone strums guitar along with Joe Zavicki and also plays banjo and fiddle. Maria Petrone adds mandolin.

The band members, now rounding out 14 years of performing together, sprinkle their concerts with stories about the songs and frequently invite audience members to sing or dance along when the spirit moves them.

Since 2009, the Custom Blend Band has been a familiar sight at venues including Albert Music Hall in Waretown, Ocean County Artists Guild in Island Heights, Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Association of Little Silver, and Barnegat’s Fred Watts Gazebo.

All three belong to the Acoustic Musicians Guild in Joe Zavicki’s hometown of Brick Township. For more than 30 years, Joe has been part of the Harvest Folk Group of the Church of St. Martha in Point Pleasant. Maria and Paul have memberships in Bluegrass associations in New Jersey and Florida, and are music festival regulars in both states.
